MISSION STATEMENT:
Harborfront Neighborhood Alliance brings together neighborhood associations to ensure resident voices affect the growth, development, and sustainability of an accessible Boston waterfront. We are dedicated to preservation, equity, and public access along the Boston waterfront.
OUR APPROACH:
Networking and sharing of resources among organizations representing Boston’s harborfront neighborhoods on common environmental, social, and development issues related to living near the water’s edge.
Building a thorough understanding of waterfront development and regulatory processes at the municipal and state levels to understand how to best encourage public involvement and advocacy.
Developing an organizational infrastructure that can be leveraged to support collective and community advocacy on behalf of the Boston harborfront. For more information follow us @HarborfrontBOS

HISTORY:
The Harborfront Neighborhood Alliance formed in early 2018 as a community-based effort to advance a positive vision for Boston’s waterfront. The Alliance was spearheaded by members of the Fort Point Neighborhood Association, who received philanthropic support from the Barr Foundation in December 2017 to convene Boston’s inner harbor residential neighborhood organizations. The Alliance–which brings together representatives from Charlestown, Downtown/Wharf District, East Boston, Fort Point, the North End, South Boston, and Dorchester–meets monthly to share resources and build members’ shared understanding of how to create a waterfront that preserves public enjoyment of Boston Harbor, strengthens resilience, and maintains the quality of life in Boston’s harborfront neighborhoods. The Harborfront Neighborhood Alliance is a proud member of Boston Waterfront Partners.
