As we await the inauguration of Mayor-Elect Marty Walsh on Monday, January 6, 2014 and his plans for the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA), maybe we can find some clues of what the BRA’s future will hold, by looking at its past. The Boston Globe investigated the BRA’s Board performance and reveals a practice of rubber stamping deals during the Menino administration in “BRA cuts deals at expense of affordable housing”. It appears the current BRA board is done. The Boston Herald reports the board will not be holding any more meetings before the new mayor takes over in “BRA scuttles meeting prior to Marty Walsh’s term“.
